Hey!

I’m Kailey Aiken, a journalist and creator passionate  about telling stories at the intersection where people meet the environment. From protecting marine reserves in Puerto Rico, to oyster reef restoration in Tampa Bay, to the surf and beach culture of Rockaway Beach, I have used my writing to explore how communities and the environment can shape one another. I also love creating travel and lifestyle content, and love sharing my experiences and adventures with the world. I’ve written for The Rockaway Times and American Surf Magazine, with a emphasis on environmental reporting, travel, and outdoor lifestyle. My background in writing and journalism at the University of Tampa, where I serve as The Minaret's feature section editor,  has allowed me to deepen my commitment to meaningful, research-driven storytelling that connects with readers.
